General Information
The Pennsylvania State Modern Language Association (PSMLA), Pennsylvania’s only statewide professional organization for Language Teachers, releases its annual publication, the Forum, in the Fall. The Forum, which contains information on activities, developments and research in foreign language teaching and learning, reaches hundreds of teachers statewide.
Submitting to the Forum
Submissions for the PSMLA Language Forum are due by July 1st for consideration of publication in the annual Fall edition. Please submit items or inquiries to [email protected].
*In order to qualify for publication the author (and any co-author[s]) must be a current member of PSMLA.*
Submissions may include (but are not limited to) the following categories:
• lesson plans
• research

travel summaries (by teachers or students)
• project ideas
• teaching tips
• creative writings in the target language (by teachers or students)
• photos or digital files of student work
Submission Guidelines
*An item submitted for consideration may not have been previously published elsewhere. *
*Do not include advertisements or testimonials for products or services within a submission.*
Font & Spacing: Times 12 pt., single-spaced; remove page numbers from document
Word Limit: 7,000 words maximum
Color: Use color for photos only. Convert charts and graphs to differing patterns.
Citations: Endnotes, not footnotes
Scripting: Due to space constraints, do not include scripts of any portion of a lesson plan. Instead, consider summarizing pertinent portions of the lesson dialogue. Or you may wish to provide a web link to the scripted information.
Worksheets/Handouts: Decrease spacing as much as possible in order to save space.

Please use this form when you submit student work or photos of students to be published in The Forum or on the PSMLA website. Send the form with the signature via email or regular mail to the address indicated on the bottom of the form.
“PSMLA Bucks”
Upon acceptance for publication, each author will receive a $10 “PSMLA Bucks” coupon which can be used towards PSMLA merchandise, PSMLA membership renewal, or registration at a PSMLA-sponsored workshop or event. (PSMLA Bucks expire one year from the date of issue and are non-transferrable.)
