Celebrating 100 years of PSMLA!

100 Years of PSMLA: A glance into the archives

The 1967Bulletin described presentations on the following subjects:

The PA Foreign Language Research Project

“Since 1965, more than one hundred of the Commonwealth’s French and German teachers and their students have been actively involved in “an assessment of three foreign language teaching strategies utilizing three language laboratory systems”.  These were “supported by NDEA, Title VII, as well as state and local funds”.  (Helmut A. Baranyi)

Viability of Esperanto

Basically, the study of Esperanto gives the student the advantages of a language with a horizontal view of many cultures, in contrast to the vertical cultural view of one particular country.” (William P. Simpson)

There was a listing of opportunities for Study abroad, Fulbright-Hayes Program, Teacher Exchange, and Summer Institutes.
